Growing up in devon, I first came to yoga through surfing. At first yoga wasn’t really my thing as I found it impossible to switch off my mind or see the benefit of the final savasana relaxation.

This all changed when I moved to haywards heath, west sussex and found my ‘sanctuary’ at be-yoga. I was fascinated by how yoga quietened my mind and helped me deal with my then, daily stresses within the corporate world and busy london commuter lifestyle.

I developed a passion for helping others by offering and sharing what I’ve learned through my own journey with yoga.

I completed my teacher training at be-yoga in may 2016 and haven’t looked back since. I brought yoga into my corporate job and became the residential yoga teacher within the global headquarters of the company. Since leaving london I’ve taken all my experience with me and now offer classes across west sussex.

My real passion and skill–set lies in creating unique yoga event packages or “zen do’s” tailored for every client for whatever yoga experience they are looking for… whether a hen zen do for yoga- loving brides-to-be, a corporate away day package for the adventurous colleagues, or a wellness pamper package for mother’s day, a birthday party or just a tuesday, you name it, I’m there!.

Our Teachers

Kelly Davies

Kelly Davies first came to Yoga in 2002 after a trip to India where she discovered the books of BKS Iyengar. She found that practising Yoga gave her the stability that she needed in her life at that time, and helped her to deal with the ups and downs of everyday living.

Her journey deeper into Yoga led her to teach basic Yoga practices to the children at her son’s school, along with song, dance and art. Seeing how this opened up the quieter children, Kelly decided to train as a Yoga teacher and began her studies in the tradition of Krishnamacharya, the Grandfather of Modern Yoga.

Since completing her teacher training in 2004, Kelly has continued studying in India with the Desikachar family and at the Krishnamacharya Yoga Mandiram in Chennai. She has taught as a senior Teacher, Therapist and Teacher-Trainer in Melbourne for more than 10 years in Melbourne before joining with Scott to form Trikaya Yoga. Kelly now works exclusively as the lead teacher, therapist and teacher-trainer for Rebel Monk yoga studio in Hawthorn, Melbourne.

Kelly’s passion for Yoga, art and music continues to this day, as does her fondness of travel and adventure. She enjoys the continuing evolution of her practice and teaching in many directions, with a particular focus on the use of sound in mantra and chanting, and her ongoing exploration of the energetic systems of the body.

Scott Rennie

Scott Rennie came to Yoga in his native Scotland in 2001, seeking for a way to deal with hefty life stresses and an overly active mind. Exploring several different approaches, he soon favoured the gymnastic Ashtanga Vinyasa style until recurring knee injuries prevented him from furthering his practice in that tradition.

At this time, Scott became drawn to the Krishnamacharya tradition and headed off to India to study at the Krishnamacharya Yoga Mandiram in Chennai. On returning home in 2005 he completed teacher training and the following year left his career as a police detective (with Strathclyde Police, now Police Scotland) to teach, study and practise Yoga on a full time basis.

Scott continued his study for many years with the Desikachar family in Chennai, and also studied in Pregnancy Yoga with Francoise Freedman, the founder of Birthlight. He was a teacher-trainer in the CYS Scotland Yoga Teacher Training Course from 2006 until he left the UK in 2014.

As well as the strong foundation of teachings in the Krishnamacharya tradition, Scott has found inspiration in his practice from sources such as the Yoga Somatics approach of his Tantsu teacher, Ateeka, and the embodied meditation practices of his Vajrayana teacher Reggie Ray of Dharma Ocean.

In 2014 Scott published his first book, One Percent Yoga: How to practise Yoga every day, and spent two months as a volunteer teaching Yoga at a mindful recovery centre, New Life Foundation in Northern Thailand.

After founding Trikaya Yoga with Kelly in Melbourne in 2015, Scott spent seven months teaching Yoga in the jungle at Rainbow Lodge Eco Retreat Centre in Tatai, Cambodia, and 4 months as centre manager for Mahamudra Buddhist Retreat Centre in New Zealand, returning to Melbourne in December 2016.
