On 6th July, I was lucky enough to attend the latest Ottilie Lifestyle & Wellness July Yoga brunch. I didn’t have to work, or host or teach – I could just go and enjoy the whole experience from start to finish as a guest. Ahhhhh bliss!
The venue was Patrick’s Barn, Chiddinglye. This beautiful farm is tucked away deep in the beautiful Sussex countryside. Even the drive itself (although on 15 minutes from home) felt like an escape to the rural countryside and made it every bit more a true retreat.
We arrived to a green welcome smoothie and some delicious energy balls for an extra kick before beginning our yoga class. The table also had some lovely products to explore and look at from Root & Flower, Moa and copies of Just Breathe Magazine.
After a short introduction from Ottilie’s creator and founder Sam Warner, Emily Scott began an awesome dynamic 75m yoga flow, complete with a cracking playlist and exciting sequence to challenge and inspire all the yogis present. The levels varied from complete beginner (first or second ever class) to other experienced teachers. There was something there for everyone. It really challenged me which I loved and I was able to vamp up the flow or slow it down depending on what I needed. Emily carefully guided everyone in the room, offering modifications and adjustments. If you’re thinking the yoga would be too much for you I can safely say don’t be put off or afraid – it’s one for all levels and abilities and you will be very much looked after.
After the physical asana practice, there was a long, blissful savasana (lying down relaxation). I was literally away with the fairies having pushed myself in the physical practice I was very ready for some deep relaxation! Making this EVEN better, Sam spritzed us all with the most delicious Root & Flower Yoga & Meditation Atmosphere Mist. I bought one afterwards as Ottilie now stock this product, it is so lovely!
Now, time for brunch! What can I say – it was of course delicious but beautiful too! The food was decorated with seasonal fruits and wild edible flowers – absolutely stunning. There was plenty for everyone and I also sneaked an extra muffin home 😀 Take a look at the menu to see the full selection. Suitable for vegan/vegetarian with a lot on offer to delight the palette. My favourite was the flapjack.
The extra bonus was that the weather was good so we could enjoy the lovely sunshine outside. It was nice to mingle and talk with everyone either on the picnic tables or sat on the grass. If we hadn’t been blessed with the weather, we could sit in the barn on the cosy blanketed hay bales – every part the perfect venue for this event.
Upon eating my fill, we were given a stunning goodie bag yipeeeee! See the contents below. Ottilie change the goodie bag for every event and you truly are spoiled with a selection of wellness products.
At a cost of £30 for the entire event this is extremely generous and good value. I told Sam that did I still work in my super busy, stressful corporate job this would be the absolute No.1 event to take a day off work for and really fully treat yourself. It’s just a shame the event isn’t the whole day… here’s hoping!
I left feeling refreshed, rejuvenated, full & content, relaxed and very spoiled. Thank you Ottilie for this wonderful experience. I am so grateful to be working with you on the next event – 22 July for our Rest & Restore Yoga Brunch in aid of Cystic Fibrosis Trust.
Stay tuned for my upcoming interview with Samantha Warner, founder and creator of Ottilie Lifestyle & Wellness, exploring her creativity, her mission, and what’s the meaning behind that lovely name ‘Ottilie’?
